I can't Benny, I haven't been watcing close enough.
I gotta bow outta this one.
I do remember in the late 80's, we were a nation very wary of becomming dependant upon Natural resources, as it is NEVER a good idea. We made progress in reviving our non-existant reasearch and tech sectors, as well as making some manufacturing progress. Trade relationships with other nations OTHER than the US were developing, and they were helping seperate us from the US so as to make us less dependant.
All of this has been wiped. Gone. And I know all about it as I have been downsized twice. Our dollar is taking a beating now, we have no fuckingincome other than Oil and rocks and alas, the Americans are fucking us large in the trade world as they are keeping all their shit domestic.
Harper supports all that.
I don't wanna live in a service based Country, I'd like to live in a self sufficient country. Harper can say what he wants, I don't support him, now doI likely support anyone else.
I'm prolly gonna go spoil my ballot.

Guys, I'll be the first one to jump down Harper's throat, however, for the most part, alot of pundits (both left and right) are applauding Canada's economic policy right now. And right now, economically speaking he's maybe the better choice.
Socially and geo-politically, I don't think he is nowhere near the best choice. In fact, for me, the last choice. But right now, those aren't issues anywhere.

I am not voting today... why?
Here are my choices...
1. Gay Muslim guy for NDP 2. Young slimy white guy for Conservitives 3. Bob Ray for Liberals 4. Older unwed hippie lady with 6 kids for Green party
And bunch of weirdos and crazy people.
So... since nobody is worth voting for I am not voting not to mention Liberals will win in my ridding for sure... they always do with 3 or 4 times as many votes as 2nd placed NDP candidate.
Check out last vote...
2008 By-election results:
Bob Rae, Liberal, 14,187 votes, 59.5 per cent
El-Farouk Khaki, NDP, 3,312 votes, 13.9 per cent
Chris Tindal, Green Party, 3,199 votes, 13.4 per cent
Donald Meredith, Conservative, 2,939 votes, 12.3 per cent

My first time to vote, but all candidates seem terrible! I was going to vote NDP, but the guy in our riding dropped out because they found out he stripped in front of a bunch of kids about 10 years ago and had them draw on his body
