Here are his Raptor references from the top 20 list:
7. Jermaine O'Neal (Toronto Raptors) - Already had lots of Raptor fans come up to me a bit concerned with how he's looked so far. Just relax. Step #1 is Oct 29th on opening night and he probably won't be really sharp until mid to late November. I haven't seen that burst and second or third effort from him yet. I think it's a combination of conditioning and a feeling out process. He looks rusty and out of rhythm but that will come. He's going to LOVE playing with Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon. He's surrounded by good shooting and that will help him get comfortable and get some single coverage in the post. Sam Mitchell will be a big help to him because he'll challenge him each day in a straight forward fashion that over time will get the rust off of O'Neal's game.
16. The Raptor - Starting my 11th year broadcasting in the NBA and he's the best mascot in the NBA. I've seen 'em all. Entertaining and quite funny, a good combination. Over the years during some dark times for Toronto basketball fans, he kept us all laughing instead of wanting to cry. In a day and age where too many folks in Pro sports take themselves way too serious it's nice that we can have some fun. I'm all for that - it's sports not politics or national affairs thank goodness.
20. Raptors Defence - I've said this many times before and I'll say it again. Help is the weakest word in the defensive dictionary. The Raptors will be better with an improved interior defense with Jermaine O'Neal in the mix and the presence of CB4 along with the maturity of Bargnani and Humphries. With that being said, they were exposed time and time again last year as a perimeter defensive team being unable to contain penetration, contest perimeter shots and guard cutters. Not sure how this is all going to shake out but in my book it's a bit of a concern. I've said it many times in the past, in circumstances like this the thought of mixing in some zone defense to camouflage your weaknesses on the perimeter is something to consider on many nights.
